OnLive Continues Their THQ Deal Week With…

MX VS. ATV REFLEX!

First off, I’d like to apologize on behalf of the ENTIRE 8BC crew for not being as swift with our news as we used to be, the majority of us are absolutely slammed with other priorities at the moment and we hope to get these matters resolved so we may go back to our usual regimen of making your minds cum on a daily basis.

Slightly perverted-undertone apology aside; today on OnLive, you may/will purchase Mx Vs. Atv Reflex for a mere 5USD. Now I’ve been on record as saying that I “will forever miss the Mx VS. Atv series” and that still holds true. So.. to honor one of my most favorite racing franchises of all time. I, Shawn, not as an editor, not as an omnipotent being that blesses all of you (except for when Full Sail insists  that I cram my head full of knowledge, damn you Finite Math), not even as the perverted savior of many social networks, but as a gamer celebrating all of the joy this franchise gave me, will buy Ms VS. Atv Reflex through OnLive and aggressively play the hell out of the online multiplayer. I hope to see all of you OnLine (HA, you see what I did there. Whooo I am a hoot and a half) with me.

My player tag on OnLive is “supermave” (sans quotation marks) please mention 8BC in your friend request. 🙂

And if you don’t mind, I’m just going to leave this game play footage here, I assure you it has absolutely no ulterior motives or deceptions to entice you to buy the game and join me online *inconspicuous whistle*.

As always, thank you for reading *and watching the video, I KNOW YOU DID* Feel free to Like us on Facebook and stalk us on Twitter. Also, if you’d click that nice little “follow” button on the bottom left hand corner of your screen, that would make me really happy. 😀

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for $30 & Pre-Order Goodies

Feel like seeing where the Halo phenomenon started? Feel like reliving the “good ol’ days” of the Halo-verse. Feel like reminiscing at that one spot where you got sniped for the very first time.. only to be sniped again because you were too busy staring at some fucking polygonal scenery reminiscing about a time you let a bullet go through your head!! Oh, did I forget to mention that all of those classic maps are going to be remastered in HD.. ’cause that’s kinda important.

Well you’ll be able to do all of that on November 15, 2011 when “Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary” is released for the Xbox 360. Oh did I forget to mention that (through Amazon) is only 30 DOLLARS! Oh yes my lovable worshipers you did read that correctly. But just to add some more validity to this epic announcement, allow me to humble you with the details straight from Amazon’s page.

$10 Credit Plus Pre-order Bonus
Pre-order Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and get a $10 Amazon credit good toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (certain exclusions apply, including Kindle books, MP3s, and video rentals and downloads) as well as Master Chief Avatar Armor and the Grunt Funeral Skull (once activated, every grunt’s methane tank will explode like a plasma grenade when killed). The promotional code for the credit will be e-mailed within two days after the product ships. The access code for the armor and skull will be packaged inside the game box. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com, while supplies last. Limit one per customer. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.

Okay so it’s $30 dollars when you use the $10 credit, but still, what else are you going to use that ten dollar credit on? Socks? I don’t think so, there are digital aliens out there and a ginger in some far away state THAT NEEDS TO DIE (digitally)! Oh shit.. I completely forgot the link to make it easier for all of you to pre-order this awesome slice of epic over at Amazon. There we go.. all better now.

Well there you have it, feel free to express your gratitude towards me in our comments section below, also Like us on Facebook and stalk us on Twitter.

As usual, thanks for reading.

OnLive Lands in the UK This Week

This week, very ambitious and omnipotent, omniscient cloud gaming service, OnLive is going to land in the UK and rock its knickers off. And since this way of obtaining and playing games may seem very confusing  to some people, I’ve decided to post some helpful videos and answers from OnLive’s page. There will also be a link for you UK residents to go and check out the service for yourself after all of this helpful text is out of the way.

What is this ‘cloud gaming’ thing anyway?

What do I need to get started?

That’s all well and good, but do you have a neat little OnLive overview?

That’s a lot of American pricing. What will I pay in the UK?

We don’t have official word on how it’ll all convert into Pound Sterling. UK pricing will be detailed in full later this week.

Does OnLive stream PC versions of games?

According to OnLive’s VP of Games & Media John Spinale, “Yes” although he told us that the games are modified into an OnLive version of their PC counterparts. “But at the core of our game servers is essentially a PC architecture,” he emphasised saying that OnLive games do look better than the console versions.

What about lag?

OnLive admits that your game won’t run as fast as if it were hosted on a server in your home but it does work to keep latency as low as possible “hopefully to the point where you don’t notice it.”

“At this stage in OnLive’s technology evolution, most OnLive players report that they experience no latency or acceptable latency. But, some players will find the current latency unacceptable in some games.”

It continues to say that it’s always working to reduce latency even further all the time but the best way to find out how well the system runs in your home is to try some demos. All games in the OnLive library can be played for free for half an hour.

Should I go with a particular broadband provider for best results?

OnLive has partnered with BT in the UK. You don’t have to be with BT to play OnLive but it will be working with the cloud-gaming company and optimising with OnLive in mind.

Can I play over WiFi?

The OnLive micro-console itself can only be used over a wired connection using an Ethernet cable. You can of course use a wireless connection when playing OnLive on your PC or Mac using the OnLive app.

If you don’t have an Ethernet port close enough to your TV to use the OnLive micro-console, you can create a network bridge using either a Powerline Adapter (using mains plugs to bridge the gap), a Coax Bridge (using TV aerial port) or a Wireless Bridge (using two wireless routers).

Does it have decent developer and publisher support?

“Almost all publishers and developers are on board,” says OnLive also pointing out that independent developers will be just as well represented as the big boys thanks to the ability to self-publish digital distribution provides.

“There’s a large number of people on the platform right now and the vast majority of third-party games as they come out going forward will be on OnLive pretty much day and date,” says the cloud company.

Where do I sign up?

Register your gamertag at www.onlive.co.ukwhere you’ll be able to download the OnLive app for PC or Mac or order the OnLive micro-console at launch. Watch out for news on retail partnerships coming shortly.[ Source: OnLive ]

As always, thanks for reading. If you have any more questions feel free to leave them in our comments below. Feel free to Like us on Facebook and or stalk all of us on Twitter. Once again, thanks for reading.

Happy 12th Birthday Dreamcast!!!!

I remember when I first laid eyes on you……It was when I fell in love even though i didn’t get to play you, because my cousin was a spoiled dick who got every console and never shared. I knew….. that you loved me the way I loved you even though we never got to hold hands until early 2011 when i picked you up for $10 at the flea market. I cried, I fapped and I turned you on. Holding your big bulgy wide controller in my hand as my undercarriage got damp and wet…. I still remember the first game I played on you it truly evolved me as a gamer. That day you can call it a evolution if you’d like and also the name of the game was Evolution. I played non stop for hours! I didn’t think the world could get any better and I was right because hours in the game froze because it was scratched!!!! Quickly our love started to fade until I visited the same place I found you and picked up some supplements that would get our marriage to once again work. With the help of the male enhancements known as Powerstone and Fighting Force 2 our love came back with a vengeance and we lived happily ever after. After you’ve finished reading my Oscar award winning story (better then the Notebook) check out the marathon Dreamcastjunkyard had on YouTube. I salute you Junkyard Kid……..with my penis……….SEGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much Love JT
