First Look At Modern Warfare 3’s Singleplayer

Take a look at a 30 second clip that was just uploaded to YouTube today of the Modern Warfare 3’s Singleplayer. To some the 30 second video means shit, but for the COD warriors, addicts and competitive players it means a early look at how the  MP5 with the EOTech and silencer handles.

Call of Duty: Elite Profile Screen Shots

    Skulls: Now with facial expressions

Activision has released various screen shots depicting various categories  in user profiles for Call of Duty: Elite.  Categories consist of Career, Connect, Compete, and Improve.

    Career

The Career category is, nicely, laid out with COD “Featured News” updates and  the lifetime statistics over multiple games.  Ah, yes, all that useless information will quench your thirst for meaningless statistics.  The one feature that really stood-out was the prestige calculate feature, which gives you an estimation of the time it’ll take you to reach your next prestige; in this case, this poor bastard has about 2 weeks to go. I suppose it averages your effectiveness in the battlefield and calculates from there, hence the “Re-Calculate” button, but I wonder if it takes the rate of play into consideration though.

    Connect

Connect,  is a very well  revamped “Theater Mode”. The attention whores are gonna like the “Also In This Video”  which feature every player’s tag involved in that video. What I -do- find pretty awesome is the “Group Tag”  search, where you can just type in any group and pull up their statistics etc. BTW, check out that running dive lol, unaware dude in the beret is unaware… of the player going apeshit in front of him.

    Compete

I’m totally digging the layout for the Compete section. Well, the lay out and that “Events Calendar” they have going on, where you can enlist for sweepstakes and all that good shit. Though one has to wonder if players will be able to schedule P2P battles and add them to their calendar, I’m assuming, yes.

    Improve

Gun, perks, attachment load outs,  detailed map overviews and all that good shit.

Call of Duty: Elite is said to be released around November,  around the same time MW3 releases. More details are said to be released on Labor Day Weekend at the Call of Duty XP event in L.A. Thank you and good day to you.

      Good job 3rdy.

A couple of pro tips though: Always include the tags of “Games” and “Gaming”.

: Since this is a service only accessible through a PC, but available for all players. You could’ve felt free to place this in the PC, PS3, Xbox360 and even the Wii (since MW3 will be on the Wii) categories.

Oh, I see. I’ll adjust that in a bit . Thanks for the heads up.

    PlayStation 3 Owners Aren’t Pre-Ordering Modern Warfare 3

MSXboxWorld has revealed that PlayStation 3 owners aren’t exactly flocking to the release of Modern Warfare 3 as much as Xbox360 owners.

One reason for this is the fact that Sony doesn’t seem to be “starving” its owners for 1st party content. I’ve said time and time again that many gamers are much savvier and waiting to see what deals could be had on launch day. There are a lot of other (and more promising) games coming out within the next few months other than Modern Warfare 3.

And let’s not forget the small matter of Battlefield 3 releasing before MW3, which could’ve halted the “OMG I MUST GIT MODERN WHARRFUR3 NAO!” momentum that other Fish games have gotten in the past. Even the new trailer of the Spec Ops/Survival mode trailer hasn’t gotten gamers off of their savvy/indecisive asses to pre-order Modern Warfare 3 (and in my opinion, despite how I like making fun of this series and the hate it gets, that Spec Ops/Survival mode looks damn good. Even if it basically “horde” mode, but with Fish perks.) And no, I will not stop calling this series “Fish”.

Note: Am I the only one that thinks MW3’s music/”brrrnnggh” noise sounds an awful lot like Bad Company 3’s?

Although I really don’t give a Duke Nukem flying turd about which platform has the most pre-orders of a certain game. It doesn’t change the fact that gamers of every platform will have their own views on how much a game is worth to them. And no amount of  pre-order stats will make gamers feel any inclination on rushing to the store and making a five dollar promise that they will buy your game on release day or a couple days after that day. Your game’s content will do that, not useless stats.

It matters not which platform you’re on, the months leading up to Christmas promises to be a great time for you (excluding PSP and 3DS, they have no “gaemz”. The purposeful misspelling of games is kind of a inside joke here at 8BC, just deal with it and accept it softly.. like a strange rapist approaching your naughty parts, but the rapist is hot and has an aroma of Hot Pockets and Cheetos.)  The game doesn’t even come out until November so there is plenty of time for anyone to place a pre-order or not.

Have you placed your preorder for MW3 or any game coming out between now and Christmas or early 2012 yet? Let us know here in the comments section.

I myself am not getting MW3 as I feel like every COD game I’ve played was the same. As for a review, I’ll get one of my contributors to do it as the game does nothing for me.

I’ll get Battlefield 3 on day-one though. Also, I do agree that Xbox 360 owners are really starving for first-party games this winter. They get Gears of War 3 and thats it.

PS3 owners get Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, and a whole lot more.

So while 360 owners are enjoying their MW3, PS3 owners get to enjoy MW3 with other triple-A titles exclusive to their platform.

Oh how far the 360 exclusivity has fallen.

That, I feel, is kind of a double-edged sword. On one edge, ps3 players get a hell of a lot more variety; that simply can not be denied. However, Microsoft execs use the comparison in sales data for 3rd party games to 3rd party developers to further reenforce their bid for exclusive or time-exclusive content/DLC.

Which, as we all know; can be particularly annoying for some impatient gamers. (Pointing at all of you players that bought the 360 SOLELY for not wanting to wait for some maps.)

    • janhutchings 12:53 am on August 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

I’d have to agree with that. But really those maps altogether cost more than the actual game. People could buy two triple-a games for that amount.

$15 for 5 maps never really sat well with me, and never will.

But then again, most casual COD players don’t mind paying those exorbitant amounts because they don’t even know they’re being gyped.

N-Control’s “Avenger” PS3 Accessory Promises to Revolutionize Gameplay

Really? That looks like a flustercuk. >_>

N-Control is releasing its new accessory for the PlayStation 3 controller, this November. N-Control guarantees to provide users with “the ultimate gaming advantage.” N-Control claims its “Avenger” accessory to be “the most sophisticated secret weapon in the gaming industry,”. I swear, just about every other accessory maker and their dog claims this whenever they release an accessory too. Maybe I should place one of my turds in the freezer overnight and call it “the joystick that literally conforms to the way you hold it”. “The ShitStick, available now for 29.99 at where ever over-priced accessories can be found.”

Oh Demotivational, where would we be without you?

All cynicism and witty dialogue aside; the Avenger is an external adapter that houses the PlayStation 3 controller to enhance game play. The accessory tightly grips the controller’s exterior surface, providing an immersive gaming experience through an intuitive user-interface. Or so N-Control claims.  “It enhances the gamer’s manual dexterity and situational awareness by improving accuracy and reaction time,” says David Kotkin, lead designer of The N-Control Avenger. “This sophisticated accessory is specially engineered for those who want to push their gaming abilities to new heights.” The Avenger supposedly allows for rapid, fluid movements between individual buttons and analogue sticks (because I’ve always complained that my thumbs were just too fucking slow), allowing gamers to access nine functions simultaneously (who the hell needs nine functions at once?). The adapter comes equipped with a stabilizer tripod, high-precision tension straps, hair-triggers, and sensitivity adjusters, which can be fine-tuned like the price of a indecisive crack whore.

The Avenger’s release date coincides with the launch of Modern Warfare 3. The Avenger will only be available in a limited edition of 5000 Units Worldwide; gamers had better hurry if they wish to take advantage of this offer The PS3 Avenger can be ordered online from the N-Control website for $48.99.

Modern Warfare 3 Spec Ops Survival Trailer.. That is all

Oh who am I kidding, I always have to put some dialogue here just to let all of you know that I’m legendary. And I know that you thank me for it. Quick question: What do you get when you add “Survive for as long as possible” from Zombies with insane perks with the fact that your AI opponents also get perks WITH the Spec Ops mode… you get awesome.. that’s what you get.. don’t believe me? Watch and jizz on yourself then tell me I’m right, because I’m always right.

Now some may call me weird for this, but my favorite part is at the end… spoiler alert…

Treyarch holds auction for deceased employee’s family (Something our site founder would never do)

Earlier this year, Treyarch employee Donald Barnes was murdered after trying to intervene in a fight outside his California home. To help Donald’s grandparents raise the children he left behind, the Barnes family memorial fund has been set up and Treyarch has decided to help with a seven-day eBay auction.

The auction, which has a little over two days left, features a slew of games from Treyarch from all genres and platforms (there is even an autographed prestige edition of Black Ops.) All proceeds of the auction go to the memorial fund for Barnes’ children aged 8 and 17.

Barnes was 41 when he was killed in January of this year after he tried to break up a fight between a man and woman at his apartment complex. Donald worked in the videogame industry from 1996 as a character modeler and later a character artist for studios under EA Sports and Activision.

While Donald Barnes’ death is tragic (made even more sad since he was trying to do a good deed), the fact that people, including his old employer, are stepping up to help his family is spectacular. It warms my cold, perverted, slightly deranged and embittered black hole where that thing you humans call a “heart” used to reside to see them trying to help out when they didn’t have to. Hopefully this memorial fund will get even more attention and Donald’s children will be taken care of.
