OnLive Continues Their THQ Deal Week With…

    MX VS. ATV REFLEX!

First off, I’d like to apologize on behalf of the ENTIRE 8BC crew for not being as swift with our news as we used to be, the majority of us are absolutely slammed with other priorities at the moment and we hope to get these matters resolved so we may go back to our usual regimen of making your minds cum on a daily basis.

Slightly perverted-undertone apology aside; today on OnLive, you may/will purchase Mx Vs. Atv Reflex for a mere 5USD. Now I’ve been on record as saying that I “will forever miss the Mx VS. Atv series” and that still holds true. So.. to honor one of my most favorite racing franchises of all time. I, Shawn, not as an editor, not as an omnipotent being that blesses all of you (except for when Full Sail insists  that I cram my head full of knowledge, damn you Finite Math), not even as the perverted savior of many social networks, but as a gamer celebrating all of the joy this franchise gave me, will buy Ms VS. Atv Reflex through OnLive and aggressively play the hell out of the online multiplayer. I hope to see all of you OnLine (HA, you see what I did there. Whooo I am a hoot and a half) with me.

My player tag on OnLive is “supermave” (sans quotation marks) please mention 8BC in your friend request. 🙂

And if you don’t mind, I’m just going to leave this game play footage here, I assure you it has absolutely no ulterior motives or deceptions to entice you to buy the game and join me online *inconspicuous whistle*.

As always, thank you for reading *and watching the video, I KNOW YOU DID* Feel free to Like us on Facebook and stalk us on Twitter. Also, if you’d click that nice little “follow” button on the bottom left hand corner of your screen, that would make me really happy. 😀

    Vita’s 3G Capped to 20MB of Data Download… wait what? o__O

Seems like Sony is taking a page from mobile phone service providers and posting a data download cap on their Vita (the data download cap is only if you opt for the 3G model.)

Sony representatives stated that players who will use the 3G downloads will be limited to 20MB of data. Wait what? That’s pretty damn absurd; what if I want to download a game from the PS Store or even do some online gaming? Oh wait, I can’t even do online gaming in 3G because the speeds are around 128kbps download and 64kbps upload. So unless I REALLY like the feel of my online gaming to be somewhere along the lines of obtuse and virtually unplayable, I get no online gaming for my Vita. Which brings about another question, why even bother having a 3G model if the speeds are going to be this piss poor?

Luckily those speeds and data caps are only for Japan (as of this typing) it’s still unknown as to what Americans and Brits get to do with their 3G, but since AT&T has an exclusive partnership deal with Sony & the Vita (in the U.S. that is) I’m guessing fuck all. I think I’m going to get Verizon Wi-Fi just to see if I can make an AT&T employee’s head implode.

The PSVita launches in Japan on December 17th, 2011. And sometime in early 2012 for the rest of us that matter.

As always thanks for reading. Feel free to Like us on Facebook and stalk all of us on Twitter.

Now go back to saving the world or that princess that never puts out.

FFX for PS3 and PSVita Will be a REMAKE

I’m usually not the type of guy that gets “floored” by announcements, but needless to type, after stumbling upon this tidbit of news I immediately cast myself onto the floor. According to PSTime, Final Fantasy X will be a full blown remake that uses the Final Fantasy XIII engine. Now it’s time for some block quoted and bullet pointed details.

    • Uses the same engine from Final Fantasy XIII and adapted to PSVita.
    • All that is made from scratch with the new engine is the design of the characters, the aeons and stage elements.
    • The sets and scenes in HD remastered CGI will implement a “filter” FFXIII Engine.
    • The magic and some lighting effects are achieved with the new engine “Luminous”.
    • The Blitzball undergoes some small changes.
    • Will include some online options (specific details are unknown).
    • The release date in Japan is fiscal 2012.

(Editors note: I tried to edit and modify those translated details to make the most sense as best as I could with what little energy I had)

I just hope they also edit out this laugh scene.

Tell us what you think about all of these details in our comment box (it won’t bite). Also, Like us on Facebook and stalk us on Twitter.

    And.. thanks for reading. 😀

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for $30 & Pre-Order Goodies

Feel like seeing where the Halo phenomenon started? Feel like reliving the “good ol’ days” of the Halo-verse. Feel like reminiscing at that one spot where you got sniped for the very first time.. only to be sniped again because you were too busy staring at some fucking polygonal scenery reminiscing about a time you let a bullet go through your head!! Oh, did I forget to mention that all of those classic maps are going to be remastered in HD.. ’cause that’s kinda important.

Well you’ll be able to do all of that on November 15, 2011 when “Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary” is released for the Xbox 360. Oh did I forget to mention that (through Amazon) is only 30 DOLLARS! Oh yes my lovable worshipers you did read that correctly. But just to add some more validity to this epic announcement, allow me to humble you with the details straight from Amazon’s page.

    $10 Credit Plus Pre-order Bonus
Pre-order Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and get a $10 Amazon credit good toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (certain exclusions apply, including Kindle books, MP3s, and video rentals and downloads) as well as Master Chief Avatar Armor and the Grunt Funeral Skull (once activated, every grunt’s methane tank will explode like a plasma grenade when killed). The promotional code for the credit will be e-mailed within two days after the product ships. The access code for the armor and skull will be packaged inside the game box. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com, while supplies last. Limit one per customer. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.

Okay so it’s $30 dollars when you use the $10 credit, but still, what else are you going to use that ten dollar credit on? Socks? I don’t think so, there are digital aliens out there and a ginger in some far away state THAT NEEDS TO DIE (digitally)! Oh shit.. I completely forgot the link to make it easier for all of you to pre-order this awesome slice of epic over at Amazon. There we go.. all better now.

Well there you have it, feel free to express your gratitude towards me in our comments section below, also Like us on Facebook and stalk us on Twitter.

    As usual, thanks for reading.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Only Needs One Disc (Xbox 360)

For those of you who were annoyed at having to change your disc after 10-20 hours of playing the original Final Fantasy 13 on your Xbox 360, then I have good news for you! No longer will you have to do that tiresome process of getting up, walking that extremely long journey over to your Xbox 360, pushing the eject button, take the disc out of the tray, place the swapped disc back in the box, then place the requested “new” disc into the Xbox 360 disc tray, push the disc tray back into the 360, use a towel to wipe the sweat off of your body, drink a gallon of Gatorade (you’re gonna need the electrolytes), walk that same journey back to your gaming seat, lift that ever-so heavy controller and finally resume gaming.. after watching the mandatory cutscene.

Famitsu has just confirmed this so don’t look at me like I’m trying to start an insane rumor. Toriyama insists that FFXIII-2.0937458 is just as big as FFXIII, they just minimized the CG cutscenes and just implemented event scenes where everything is in real time (I better not see “press A to do a flashy spin”).

Feel free to express your utter gratefulness to me in our comments section below this article, also Like us on Facebook and stalk us on Twitter.

    Thanks for reading

OnLive Lands in the UK This Week

This week, very ambitious and omnipotent, omniscient cloud gaming service, OnLive is going to land in the UK and rock its knickers off. And since this way of obtaining and playing games may seem very confusing  to some people, I’ve decided to post some helpful videos and answers from OnLive’s page. There will also be a link for you UK residents to go and check out the service for yourself after all of this helpful text is out of the way.

What is this ‘cloud gaming’ thing anyway?

What do I need to get started?

That’s all well and good, but do you have a neat little OnLive overview?

That’s a lot of American pricing. What will I pay in the UK?

We don’t have official word on how it’ll all convert into Pound Sterling. UK pricing will be detailed in full later this week.

Does OnLive stream PC versions of games?

According to OnLive’s VP of Games & Media John Spinale, “Yes” although he told us that the games are modified into an OnLive version of their PC counterparts. “But at the core of our game servers is essentially a PC architecture,” he emphasised saying that OnLive games do look better than the console versions.

    What about lag?

OnLive admits that your game won’t run as fast as if it were hosted on a server in your home but it does work to keep latency as low as possible “hopefully to the point where you don’t notice it.”

“At this stage in OnLive’s technology evolution, most OnLive players report that they experience no latency or acceptable latency. But, some players will find the current latency unacceptable in some games.”

It continues to say that it’s always working to reduce latency even further all the time but the best way to find out how well the system runs in your home is to try some demos. All games in the OnLive library can be played for free for half an hour.

Should I go with a particular broadband provider for best results?

OnLive has partnered with BT in the UK. You don’t have to be with BT to play OnLive but it will be working with the cloud-gaming company and optimising with OnLive in mind.

    Can I play over WiFi?

The OnLive micro-console itself can only be used over a wired connection using an Ethernet cable. You can of course use a wireless connection when playing OnLive on your PC or Mac using the OnLive app.

If you don’t have an Ethernet port close enough to your TV to use the OnLive micro-console, you can create a network bridge using either a Powerline Adapter (using mains plugs to bridge the gap), a Coax Bridge (using TV aerial port) or a Wireless Bridge (using two wireless routers).

Does it have decent developer and publisher support?

“Almost all publishers and developers are on board,” says OnLive also pointing out that independent developers will be just as well represented as the big boys thanks to the ability to self-publish digital distribution provides.

“There’s a large number of people on the platform right now and the vast majority of third-party games as they come out going forward will be on OnLive pretty much day and date,” says the cloud company.

    Where do I sign up?

Register your gamertag at http://www.onlive.co.ukwhere you’ll be able to download the OnLive app for PC or Mac or order the OnLive micro-console at launch. Watch out for news on retail partnerships coming shortly.[ Source: OnLive ]

As always, thanks for reading. If you have any more questions feel free to leave them in our comments below. Feel free to Like us on Facebook and or stalk all of us on Twitter. Once again, thanks for reading.

DC Universe Going Free 2 Play

Yes!!!! Fuck Monthly fees! Honestly this is great knews for the many DC fans and gamers who have been wanting to pick this sweet MMO up since it released. No monthly fees legit free from Sony’s mouth on PlayStation Blog, but is their a catch? Of course theirs a catch. You will not be able to access everything in the game without dropping some cash down on a monthly subscription fee and their will be 3 subscription levels to choose from. Of course theirs the free versions which lets you play the game for free and get updates, but you wont be able to get the DLC free. Then their premium access which is unlock able by buying DLC and once you do you get to keep it for life. Now the final Legendary Access pack allows you to be able to access everything in the game and gives you the DLC, but I’m guessing that they are only available to you as long as you are dropping cash on the membership every month.

    Recap: From the Sony Blog

    ==================================================================================

    • Free Access – Just like it sounds. Download and play the game for free. You also get all ongoing game updates (except DLC packs).
    • Premium Access – This next level of access opens up to you if you spend at least $5 in the in-game store. Premium Access grants you additional benefits that improve your experience in the game, such as more inventory slots, more character slots, bank slots and more free Vault tickets. So all you have to do is pick up some cool items in the store or buy a DLC pack and you unlock Premium Access. The best part? Once you unlock Premium Access you keep it for the life of your account.
    • Legendary Access – With Legendary Access you can unlock the maximum level of features and benefits. To unlock Legendary Access you can pay for a $14.99 per month game pass, or save big with a discounted multi-month pass. Lifetime members are automatically granted Legendary access. Legendary Access also includes all DLC packs at no extra charge.

Binding Of Isaac Is Soon To Unleash The Wrath Of God Onto Steam

Edmund Mcmillen just tweeted out a nude picture of himself announcing the release date of The Binding Of Isaac. It will be coming out for the pc and mac and only on steam on the 28th. How much will this epic game cost? Only $5! Why would they release such a epic game for so little moneyz? Because they can!!!! yeah!!!! Go beat you  mother with a waffle bat! This news is just to good to not celebrate for! Also this is pretty cool since I remember tweeting  a couple of weeks ago to a certain someone that the game should come out on the 27th. 😉 close enough .

Keep a close eye for when the game is releases this September 28th. What? You don’t have the money for it?! Then go into your mothers purse and clear the shit out of her credit cards until she’s dead broke and you own every copy of Binding Of Isaac ever! What do you do after all that?Grab Abraham Lincoln and beat the shit out of the game while drinking cases of wine coolers filled with roofies until you unconscious and naked! Don’t worry you’ll get use to the fuzziness of Abraham’s beard 0.0 .
