    “Motion Control is in an 8-bit era” Also, A Nice Surprise 

    Gesture devices will eventually grow from their “many limitations” says Shuhei Yoshida

    I’ve often been quoted saying things like “motion controls have the potential to be the perfect controller” and “I thought you said it was fifty dollars”.  Fortunately for me; Shuhei Yoshida kind of believes with me on my first quote.

    Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has likened the current standard of motion controllers to a generation of games consoles that were built in the eighties. Don’t give me that judgmental look like you just caught me masturbating to a video of your sister eating a roast beef sandwich. Here’s a quote from Shuhei himself to make you affix your face from the judgmental look you keep staring at me with.

    “As far as I’m concerned, the motion control of today is like the 8-bit phase of video games,”

     

    Speaking last week during a Gamescom panel discussion on the future of video games, Yoshida stated that modern motion control is currently held beck by “many limitations”. Mick Hocking, a senior director at Sony Worldwide Studios, echoed Yoshida’s statement.

    “I think we’ve just only started exploring the possibilities of motion control,”.

    “Move has given us the first accurate device use for motion control,”.

    “I’m also interested in the possibilities of virtual reality and tracking every part of my body. There are loads of things we can do with motion control. Maybe we’ll create objects holographicly and interact with them via motion controllers,”.

    All three major console manufacturers feature motion control nowadays. Nintendo even placed motion controls at the center of its “Wii” console. Whereas Microsoft and Sony just offer it as a side option. While there’s no doubt that these gesture devices were the biggest reasons for all of the fitness and dancing games releases and their massive success. That technology is slowly starting to creep its way into other genres.

    Gareth Edmondson, studio manger at Ubisoft Reflections, believes the primitive nature of the technology is the reason for this. QUOTE TIME!!

    “Well Ubisoft Reflections is a core gamer racing game studio, so applying motion control to that is actually quite hard,”.

    “We’ve seen, like with the new Tom Clancy game, a really interesting motion-controlled gun customization shop,”.

    “There’s a place for it, but it’s hard to make it for driving games. Maybe there is a way, but we haven’t found one yet.”

    Ninja Gaiden 3 Gets PS Move Support (I’m Sure It’s For The Jiggle Physics) 

     

    All of you owe me 70 dollars because I totally called this. If Ninja Gaiden 3 is anything like its predecessors than razor-sharp reflexes and pinpoint precision are demanded of the player. Tecmo Koei hasn’t shared any details on how it plans to use the PS Move support (jiggle physics, I’m calling it right here.. it will be for the jiggle physics just like Sixaxis was used for the jiggle physics.) however, if I wanted to be serious; I’d guess that slicing at different angles and motions will trigger scripted animations. I just can’t see this game supporting free-form swordplay as it goes against the series’ design.

    Ninja Gaiden 3’s director Yosuke Hayashi says that the game will be compatible with “all Move peripherals and it will feature full compatibility with this exciting new hardware.”

    To truly make this experience as authentic as possible, Tecmo Koei and Sony should consider making a unique Move controller that spits blood into the player’s face.. or maybe blood isn’t the right fluid since (like I said earlier) this will most likely be used for jiggle physics. (Moving tits up and down just in case your thick skull hasn’t comprehended that.. or has yet to play Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2)

    Ninja Gaiden 3 doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but Tecmo Koei hopes to have it on store shelves in early 2012.

      Same for iTunes I would guess? Seems like a bad idea to delete these apps!

    PS3 And The Beauty Of Eden 

    Its time for PlayStation owners to finally experience the beauty of Child Of Eden. Which will be coming to you this September on the 27th with Move and 3D support.  The video above shows the Directors of Child Of Eden tease a bit of the Move controls. For you to experience the 3D aspect of Child Of Eden your just gonna have to pick it up this September.P.S. don’t worry it will be worth it.
