OnLive Continues Their THQ Deal Week With…

First off, I’d like to apologize on behalf of the ENTIRE 8BC crew for not being as swift with our news as we used to be, the majority of us are absolutely slammed with other priorities at the moment and we hope to get these matters resolved so we may go back to our usual regimen of making your minds cum on a daily basis.

Slightly perverted-undertone apology aside; today on OnLive, you may/will purchase Mx Vs. Atv Reflex for a mere 5USD. Now I’ve been on record as saying that I “will forever miss the Mx VS. Atv series” and that still holds true. So.. to honor one of my most favorite racing franchises of all time. I, Shawn, not as an editor, not as an omnipotent being that blesses all of you (except for when Full Sail insists  that I cram my head full of knowledge, damn you Finite Math), not even as the perverted savior of many social networks, but as a gamer celebrating all of the joy this franchise gave me, will buy Ms VS. Atv Reflex through OnLive and aggressively play the hell out of the online multiplayer. I hope to see all of you OnLine (HA, you see what I did there. Whooo I am a hoot and a half) with me.

My player tag on OnLive is “supermave” (sans quotation marks) please mention 8BC in your friend request. 🙂

And if you don’t mind, I’m just going to leave this game play footage here, I assure you it has absolutely no ulterior motives or deceptions to entice you to buy the game and join me online *inconspicuous whistle*.

As always, thank you for reading *and watching the video, I KNOW YOU DID* Feel free to Like us on Facebook and stalk us on Twitter. Also, if you’d click that nice little “follow” button on the bottom left hand corner of your screen, that would make me really happy. 😀

    Twisted Metal BabyDoll Trailer

Beauty Kills and if you are not convinced then the video above should be enough proof of that. BabyDoll once a starlet who was at the top of the world. Who once would capture the screen with her beauty’s magnetism has gone insane after a incident where she lost it all and soon went mad. No matter how small something is it can be mean the world to another, but is it worth killing for? If you have no idea then i suggest you think twice about entering the arena, because i will kill you just to see how it sounds when a body burns after being nuked down and torn to pieces by my lazorz 🙂 .

So what would one do to get what they desire? How crazy are you? What will you be fighting for in the Twisted Metal Arena?

    Much Love JT

“Motion Control is in an 8-bit era” Also, A Nice Surprise

Gesture devices will eventually grow from their “many limitations” says Shuhei Yoshida

I’ve often been quoted saying things like “motion controls have the potential to be the perfect controller” and “I thought you said it was fifty dollars”.  Fortunately for me; Shuhei Yoshida kind of believes with me on my first quote.

Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has likened the current standard of motion controllers to a generation of games consoles that were built in the eighties. Don’t give me that judgmental look like you just caught me masturbating to a video of your sister eating a roast beef sandwich. Here’s a quote from Shuhei himself to make you affix your face from the judgmental look you keep staring at me with.

“As far as I’m concerned, the motion control of today is like the 8-bit phase of video games,”

Speaking last week during a Gamescom panel discussion on the future of video games, Yoshida stated that modern motion control is currently held beck by “many limitations”. Mick Hocking, a senior director at Sony Worldwide Studios, echoed Yoshida’s statement.

“I think we’ve just only started exploring the possibilities of motion control,”.

“Move has given us the first accurate device use for motion control,”.

“I’m also interested in the possibilities of virtual reality and tracking every part of my body. There are loads of things we can do with motion control. Maybe we’ll create objects holographicly and interact with them via motion controllers,”.

All three major console manufacturers feature motion control nowadays. Nintendo even placed motion controls at the center of its “Wii” console. Whereas Microsoft and Sony just offer it as a side option. While there’s no doubt that these gesture devices were the biggest reasons for all of the fitness and dancing games releases and their massive success. That technology is slowly starting to creep its way into other genres.

Gareth Edmondson, studio manger at Ubisoft Reflections, believes the primitive nature of the technology is the reason for this. QUOTE TIME!!

“Well Ubisoft Reflections is a core gamer racing game studio, so applying motion control to that is actually quite hard,”.

“We’ve seen, like with the new Tom Clancy game, a really interesting motion-controlled gun customization shop,”.

“There’s a place for it, but it’s hard to make it for driving games. Maybe there is a way, but we haven’t found one yet.”

What do all of you think about the current state and future potential of and for motion controls? Feel free to tell us in our comments section. Actually, you know what.. I fell bad about just posting a trailer for another fitness game.. so to make it up to you all.. HERE’S THE ENTIRE SONY GAMESCOM PRESS CONFERENCE!!

    Xbox 360 + Ferrari = Win

Mmm, there's no way *insert stalker victim's name here* can deny my friend request now. 😀

Now before you start maxing out your credit cards to purchase a Ferrari with a Xbox360 built into it. I need to tell you that this is merely a steering wheel accessory. However, I say it’s just as good since we may never get to ride around in a Ferrari. But they can’t stop you from driving a Ferrari in your favorite digital racing simulator game! Mainly because the very nice folks over at Thurstmaster have just announced their new accessory for the Xbox 360 — the first racing wheel ever endorsed by Ferrari and Microsoft: the Ferrari 458 Italia Racing Wheel.

Designed to bring out the best of your racing abilities and totally impress the chicks. This racing wheel is modeled after the Ferrari 458 Italia. It comes with a large number of easily accessible controls that are specific to the Xbox 360. Plus it has a unique design that is touted to give it impeccable ergonomics – because what ISN’T ergonomic to our grips these days-? The racing wheel measures in at about 11 inches and features a rubber-textured grip, built-in metal gear shifters, and even a special dial for you to change views in supported games (i.e. Forza Motorsport 4). Of course I’d be an absolute tosser if I forgot to mention the pedal base with two pedals and a wide footrest to complete the whole racing wheel setup.

I'm so.. irresistible while in my dream Ferrari.

The Ferrari 458 Italia Racing Wheel for Xbox360 will be available in October for $89.99. You’ll totally impress that gamer girl you’ve been stalking with this sexy ass wheel.

Feel free to express your immense desire for this wheel (or the aforementioned stalker victim) in our comments section below. Also, don’t forget to Like us on Facebook.

Resistance 3 won’t be included in Playstation 3D monitor after all. (Fuck you bait and switch)

Do you remember that ultra bad ass announcement from Sony’s E3 Press Conference? Don’t give me that “did you just shit yourself?” look. Just in case your memory has been deteriorated through major abuse of alcohol and certain “herbs”; I speak.. well type, of the major wallet saving announcement of Sony’s new 3Dtv that allows users to play split-screen multiplayer, but have their own separate images (it’s like they knew the rotting bodies in my back yard were the bodies of “screen watchers”). This 24″ TV was SUPPOSED to be bundled with a 6ft HDMI cord, a pair of 3D glasses and Resistance 3.

In a note on the official Insomniac Games Twitter page, the developer confirmed, “Motorstorm: Apocalypse replaced Resistance 3. Sorry for any inconvenience.” Motorstorm Apocalypse is an arcade racing game from UK based Evolution Studios that was released a few months ago (So in my opinion, the price of the bundle should drop since the game itself isn’t all that new). Neither Insomniac nor Sony have given any reason as to why Resistance 3, a much higher profile game (and better game), was taken out of the Playstation 3D Monitor bundle.

However, I can tell you that this bundle is still a great deal; you still get the ultra bad ass 24″ 3Dtv, the 6ft HDMI cord and a pair of 3D glasses, the only real difference being is that instead of getting what will be one of the greatest overlooked games this holiday season (because Earth forbid Sony effectively market one of its top exclusives, oh no that’d just be a fucking crime against humanity) you now get a decent arcade racing game.

    But still, Sony.. c’mooooon!!!

Okay, I kinda want to play that in 3D now.. with a buddy, and a beer, and that buddy has to have a vagina, and the game will not be MotorStorm: Apocalypse, it shall be STRIP MotorStorm: Apocalypse.

I am a genius, a literal genius, all of you should worship the text that I type with my blessed fingers.

I’m going to buy one for my LAN parties..

I’ll make a bit of money back when I put motorstorm on eBay.
